In August, 1959, the Midway City American Legion Baseball team, consisting of most of the top players from 3 Orange County High Schools (ages 15,16,17), won the Southern California American Legion Tournament (approximately 100 teams entered). On February 5, 2011, the team had a 50+ year reunion at the same American Legion Post, honoring Coach Ray Johnson...some coming from as far away as Hawaii and Northern California.

Some of the team members from Rancho that were not at the reunion were Dave Dixon, class of '61, Dick Molzahn, class of '60, Gary Hill, class of '61, and Rich Remmel, class of '62
